Hi,
I wanted to write this today because I have some exciting news—our new single, Golden Roses, comes out on March 7th! This is such a thrilling time for us, and I can't wait for you all to hear it.
Golden Roses was both an easy and complex song to write because of how it developed. I started writing it in Alexander's parents’ living room in Liechtenstein, overlooking the towering mountains and the flowing Rhine River. The song became an emotional release for me, stemming from a friendship that turned sour. This person let me down in more ways than I could count (and trust me, I’ve had my fair share of difficult friendships), but this one hurt the most. As I wrote, I let all the painful emotions pour out—not from a place of sadness, but from anger. Who do you think you are? Do you expect me to run after you, to beg you to stay in my life?
As the song took shape, it became angrier, while I, paradoxically, became calmer. When I showed it to Alex, he jokingly said, “Are you sure you want to release this and let him know you wrote a song about him?” I laughed and assured him that I’d never openly admit it—except here in this blog! Luckily, since he doesn’t like to read (or possibly can’t), he’ll probably never find out.
Once the song was finished, we sought feedback from a well-known German producer. Though he didn’t produce the track, he gave us a million suggestions on technical aspects—speakers, microphones, recording software, and so on. That feedback sent us back to square one.
So, we reworked and re-recorded the song, making some adjustments, and now we have the final version—the baby that’s arriving on March 7th!
To this day, I’m not entirely sure what genre this song falls into. Is it adult contemporary? Pop? Rock? Soul? Maybe all of them. And that’s what I love about it—it’s pure, honest, and unboxable (if that’s even a word).
You can pre-save the song now! Pre-saving helps platforms like Spotify recognize that people are interested, boosting the song in playlists on release day.
Love,
Noopur
